How franchise partners work

Three kinds of franchise partner, one model

A partner in PartnerOS is any org you manage — so a master franchisee, an area developer, and a single-store operator all live in the same hierarchy, each scoped to exactly what they own.

Territory

Master franchisee

Owns and develops a whole territory. Signs the area agreement, opens and sub-franchises units, and earns an override on the royalties rolling up from every location beneath them.

Operator

Unit / single-store franchisee

Runs one location day to day — a single café, gym, or salon. Remits a royalty on gross sales plus the marketing levy, and works entirely from a branded unit console.

Development deal

Area developer

Commits to open a set number of units across a region on a schedule. PartnerOS tracks the development quota, opening milestones, and fees against the plan.

The vocabulary, mapped

PartnerOS ships a small set of generic objects. Here is exactly what each one means for a franchise network — no forked codebase, just your words.

PartnerFranchisee · Unit operatorThe brand, a master franchisee, or a single café / gym / salon.
DealNew-unit opening · Order volumeA site coming online, or the sales a unit runs each period.
CommissionRoyalty + marketing levyA % of unit gross revenue owed to the brand, plus the ad-fund contribution.
PortalBranded unit consoleEach operator's own home for sales, orders, documents, and support.
DocumentsBrand standards · ComplianceFranchise agreement, operations manual, and the standards each unit must meet.
Hierarchy

Brand, territory, and unit — modeled exactly

Nest your whole network into levels: the brand at the top, master franchisees owning territories, and individual cafés, gyms, or salons as units beneath them. Sales roll up, master franchisees earn an override on their territory, and every operator sees only their own units.

  • Brand → master franchisee → café / gym / salon unit
  • Royalties and sales roll up level by level
  • Each operator is scoped to its own units — enforced server-side

Royalties & levies

Royalties that collect themselves

Set the royalty as a percentage of each unit's gross revenue, add a marketing-fund levy, and tier the rate by volume. Take a 12-store coffee franchise on a 6% royalty plus a 2% marketing levy: every café's weekly sales accrue to an append-only ledger, and the monthly royalty run clears on schedule.

  • 6% royalty + 2% marketing levy, tiered by volume
  • One-time opening & territory fees on every new unit
  • Append-only ledger — every accrual and payout auditable
